FAQ’s:
What kind of clients do you work with? . . .
I work with adult women (and men) mid-level, senior professionals and entrepreneurs who have high functioning anxiety, depressive disorders or life and career challenges. Every case is not appropriate for online services or this program.
Do you accept insurance for therapy? . . .
Yes. I accept in-network through a 3rd party provider ALMA/HEADWAY/RULA. My therapy office does not directly handle insurance billing. Please email support@senecawilliams.com to get information on how to register to use your insurance.
How much does therapy cost? . . .
IN-NETWORK INSURANCE Therapy fee depends on your insurance provider, contact them directly for the amount of coverage. Many professionals with insurance choose this option.
SELF-PAY CLIENTS The prepaid Therapy package is $1000. This is a one time fee to be paid before services begin.(This is a one month therapy package which includes (4) 60 minute sessions, self-help assignments, and 24/7 unlimited instant messaging for the entire month). All major credit cards accepted.
Cost depends on therapists specialization, years of experience, specific training and the state and varies between $80-$250 per hour. Some therapists have a sliding scale fee based on the client's income you can ask during consulation. Specialists will cost more because they specialize in a particular area to bring a specific result. There is no difference in the costs of online or in-person therapy.
Other therapy options: Contact your health insurance company for in network providers. Use online therapy referral sites like psychologytoday.com.
How does online therapy work? . . .
Professionals experience the convenience of therapy in their home or office, during lunch breaks, before or after work. You will have your own password protected, personal account in my HIPAA compliant virtual office. You will meet weekly, via video sessions (phone if necessary).
Is online therapy as effective as in person therapy? . . .
There are various research studies indicating that online therapy is just as effective as in person therapy. However, it is not appropriate for everyone. Especially people with critical cases or not technology savvy. Plus, some people, just like commuting to the therapist's office and sitting on the couch.
Why choose prepaid therapy packages vs single sessions? . . .
Clients' with the best results are consistent in therapy, meeting weekly or bi-weekly. They get an uninterrupted course of treatment, daily communication and no wait list when they purchase a package because they can schedule up to 4 weeks of sessions in advance. You will have access to daily instant messaging if you purchase a pre-paid package.
The Pros and Cons of NOT using insurance . . .
Pros:
- Confidentiality: Many professionals I see (doctors, nurses, lawyers, police officers) feel relieved that their mental health diagnosis won’t go on their permanent medical record for their employers or boards to see.
- Collaborative Treatment: You get to be a collaborator in the best course of treatment for you and partner in your therapy experience.
- Specialists: You can work with ANY THERAPIST you chose, a specialist in your particular situation.
Cons: 1. Difficulty getting disability: It is in your best interest if you are seeking surgery (cosmetic, gastric bypass) or medical leave, to see a therapist that accepts your insurance and has your treatment recorded with the insurance company.
- Extensive treatment gets expensive: It’s best to use your insurance if you require a higher level of care, long term treatment, such as inpatient treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, hospitalization or medication. (Online therapy services are not appropriate).
Can you be my therapist if I’m in another state? . . .
No. I can only provide clinical therapy services in the states I am licensed in.
New York, Florida
